Breaking! 2025 Faith & Family Scorecard Released for Texas Legislators
Austin, Texas – Today, we released our 2025 Faith & Family Scorecard based on the most recent 89th Texas Legislature.
Texas Values Action President and Attorney Jonathan Saenz stated:
“At the Texas Capitol, someone is always keeping score, and rightly so. Our Faith and Family Scorecard is an accountability tool that allows constituents and the general public to see how their Texas Senate and House member performed on the important issues of faith, family and freedom. This year’s Faith and Family Scorecard shows that more elected officials are prioritizing and voting for the values that matter most to Texans.”
The Faith and Family Scorecard is the most comprehensive pro-family accountability tool of its kind in Texas. It measures how state legislators performed on our core issues, including religious freedom, marriage & family, life, human sexuality, as well as other important value issues.
This scorecard considers only record votes and official actions taken during the Regular and Special legislative sessions on selected priority legislation for our organization. Any member with a 90% or higher earns the status of “Faith & Family Champion.”
Our website for the 2025 Faith and Family Scorecard is in the process of being updated, and when complete, it will contain user-friendly, individual member pages detailing how each legislator voted on core issues, providing the option to click through to the individual pages of State Senators and State Representatives.
In the meantime, you can view overall scores and download a printable PDF document here:
The 89th Legislature saw significant victories with the Texas Ten Commandments Law, protecting the privacy of women and girls in sex-separated spaces (Texas Women’s Privacy Act, SB 8), defining “woman” and “man” in Texas law, ending tax-payer funded travel for abortions, and other religious freedom and pro-life victories.
Our legislative scorecard is a critical education and accountability tool for Texans to see where legislators stood on the values that matter to Texans.
