Texas Values Action Endorses Mayes Middleton for Texas Attorney General
On Tuesday, March 3rd, 7th Generation Texan Mayes Middleton led the Texas Attorney General Race with 39 percent of the vote! Some have been asking, “Who is Mayes Middleton?” and we’re here to answer!
Mayes Middleton is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law and has been licensed to practice law in the state of Texas since 2008. In addition to his strong background in law, Mayes is the president of Middleton Oil Company and runs ranching, cattle and farming operations in Texas. Mayes Middleton currently serves as State Senator for District 11 representing parts of Brazoria County, Galveston and Harris County. Prior to becoming a State Senator, Mayes served as State Representative for House District 23 serving parts of the same geographic region.
Mayes is also a board member for the Texas Public Policy Foundation and former Chairman of the Texas House Freedom Caucus. During his time in the Senate, Mayes served as Vice Chair of the Local Government Committee, in addition to serving on the Administration, Business and Commerce, Education, Jurisprudence and State Affairs Committees.
As a husband and father of four children, Mayes Middleton is a staunch supporter of faith, family and freedom. In the past four years, Mayes authored two pivotal pieces of legislation for Texas: The Save Women’s Sports Law in 2023 and the Texas Women’s Privacy Act in 2025! Both of these pieces of legislation boldly proclaimed that in Texas we care about women’s and girls’ safety and opportunity!
In addition to his leadership on the Texas Women’s Privacy Act and the Save Women’s Sports Law, Mayes has been a strong supporter of the Ten Commandments Law and prayer in public schools.
