Texas Values Action proudly endorses Jared Woodfill for Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas. Woodfill previously served for 12 years as the Chairman of the Harris County Republican Party and helped lead the Campaign for Houston’s successful efforts to defeat Houston’s LGBT bathroom ordinance that would have allowed men into women’s bathrooms. Woodfill is also currently representing David Daleiden, the pro-life whistleblower whose videos exposed the barbaric practices occurring in Planned Parenthood clinics across the country, including in Houston. The Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas will be decided at this year’s Republican State Convention, May 12-14 in Dallas.

“Jared Woodfill is a principled leader who will unapologetically stand for religious freedom, marriage between one man and one woman, and for the unborn. Whether it is working together on a lawsuit to defend the definition of marriage in the Texas Constitution, numerous court cases and policy efforts to defend religious liberty, or working together on the historic and victorious effort to defeat the Houston Bathroom ordinance, my personal experience with Jared is that he knows how to boldly step forward and lead, and will never back down in fighting for what is right. Specifically on the Houston Bathroom Ordinance issue for safety and privacy, Jared worked with local, statewide and national grassroots activists and leaders to create a winning team effort that defied all odds and soundly defeated the efforts by Senator Hillary Clinton, President Obama, Mayor Annise Parker, the ACLU and many other extremists.

“Jared Woodfill’s principled leadership and commitment to the values of Texans confirms why Jared is exactly the kind of conservative values leader that the Texas Republican Party needs,” said Jonathan Saenz, President of Texas Values Action.

Jared Woodfill has also been endorsed by other strong conservative and values leaders and organizations, including Kelly Shackelford, Dr. James Dobson, David Barton, CWA State Director Ann Hettinger, Judge Paul Pressler, Texas Right to Life, and Brian Brown (President of National Organization for Marriage).

Texas Values (the 501(c)(3) affiliate of Texas Values Action) honored Jared with the 2015 Kelly Shackelford Award, acknowledging his career of extraordinary commitment to faith, family, and freedom in Texas.

Jared Woodfill is a board member of Texas Values Action. The decision to endorse his candidacy was made without his involvement.
