Plano Citizens Censored by Council on LGBT Law
Austin, TX February 20, 2015 – Today the City of Plano released a statement saying they have denied the petition of Plano citizens calling for the city’s “Equal Rights Ordinance” to be repealed or placed on the ballot. The petition contained more than double the required signatures.
Jonathan Saenz, President of Texas Values Action, issued the following statement in response:
“It’s clear that Plano City Council has no interest in listening to the people. There is no question that enough signatures were submitted and the City Council does not want to be accountable to the people. These arrogant government officials have not heard the last from the people and the real voice of Plano.”
