Austin, TX – Members of the Texas Values Action team have a combined 40 years of experience in elections and public policy; Texas Values Action has endorsed candidates in many federal and state races in the 2024 Elections, including Donald Trump for President and Ted Cruz for the closely watched U. S. Senate seat. With attacks on life, religious liberty, marriage, and family, the 2024 Elections offered an excellent opportunity for Texans to elect principled candidates who will fight for faith, family, and freedom at all levels of government. Texas Values Action law and policy team members are available to share their insight on election results.
Early this morning, Donald Trump won the presidential election with electoral votes and the popular vote; and late last night Ted Cruz won a huge near double digit victory over Colin Allred, winning by 1 million votes. Republicans also picked up two new Texas House seats and one new state Senate seat in South Texas, with a win by Republican Adam Hinojosa, a candidate endorsed by Texas Values Action.
Jonathan Saenz, President & Attorney for Texas Values Action released the following statement:
“Texans sent a strong message last night to George Soros and far left liberals – ‘don’t mess with Texas.’ A “Keep Texas, Texas” focus campaign helped Ted Cruz win a major victory by almost double digits, and Colin Allred buried his own campaign and chances by failing to protect women and girls from having men compete against them in sports. Donald Trump’s victory, by almost 15 points in Texas, was also helped in large part by Trump’s commitment to the Save Women’s Sports issue and expressing concern about children having sex change “transitions”. Texas has helped make America great again.”
