Texas Values Action Endorses Brent Graves for Texas House

February 17, 2016

Brent Graves endorsement graphicTexas Values Action proudly endorses Brent Graves for the Texas House of Representatives, House District 59. Graves is a small business owner, professional auctioneer, and land broker. He has two daughters with his wife, Ashley, who serves as the executive director of Choices Life Resource Clinic and Center, a pro-life ministry. Brent Graves is challenging the incumbent J.D. Sheffield, a liberal Republican, in the March 1 Republican Primary.

“Brent Graves will give the people of House District 59 a conservative voice in the Texas House. His dedication to protect and defend religious freedom, marriage, and life make it clear he is the right choice in this race. With Brent Graves in the Texas House, the people of House District 59 will have a pro-family conservative who will fight for the values of Texans,” said Jonathan Saenz, President of Texas Values Action.

Rep. J.D. Sheffield was the second lowest scoring Republican in the 2015 Faith and Family Scorecard (50%). During the 2015 session, Sheffield voted for a bill that would have infringed the First Amendment free speech rights of conservative non-profits and potentially even churches. Texas Values Action helped lead efforts to defeat the bill.

Constituents of HD 59 deserve a true conservative voice that will champion the values of faith, family, and freedom in the Texas House.

Early Voting: February 16 – February 26

Primary Election Day: March 1
