Texas Values Action Endorses Don Zimmerman for Austin City Council

October 24, 2016

Don Zimmerman endorsement graphicTexas Values Action proudly endorses Don Zimmerman for Austin City Council, District 6. Zimmerman has served on the Austin City Council since being elected in 2014 and was the founder of the Travis County Taxpayers Union, a local organization that successfully fought against property tax increases. Zimmerman is pro-life, supports marriage between one man and one woman, and opposes radical laws that seek to allow men to access women’s bathrooms, showers, and locker rooms.

“Don Zimmerman has been a strong, values-supporting conservative on the Austin City Council. His strong commitment to pro-life values and consistency in standing for taxpayers and government transparency makes Don Zimmerman the clear choice in this race. We are proud to support Don Zimmerman for re-election,” said Jonathan Saenz, President of Texas Values Action.

Zimmerman faces Jimmy Flannigan in the November 8 General Election. Flannigan is the former President of the Austin Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce and has supported taxpayer funding for the organization. Flannigan supports imposing radical “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” laws that would allow men to access women’s bathrooms.

Early Voting: October 24 – November 4

Election Day: Tuesday, November 8
