Texas Values Action proudly endorses Mary Lou Bruner for State Board of Education, District 9. Bruner is a retired teacher with 36 years of experience in public schools, with experience as a teacher, counselor, and educational diagnostician. Bruner advanced to the May 24 Republican Primary Runoff, winning the most votes in a three-way race, and will be facing Keven Ellis.

“Mary Lou Bruner has vast experience as both a classroom teacher and as an administrator that will serve her well on the State Board of Education. She will be a passionate advocate for supporting history standards that ensure proper teaching about the U.S Constitution, our Founding Fathers, and the religious heritage of our country. Mary Lou Bruner can be counted on to fight against the efforts to censor science and facts about medical risks for risky behavior by children, and her conservative-minded resistance to federal government overreach in education demonstrates she will put Texas students and parents first,” said Jonathan Saenz, President of Texas Values Action.

Early Voting: May 16 – May 20

Runoff Election Day: May 24
